Definition:

A pedigree is an audit trail that follows a drug from the time it is manufactured through the distribution system to a pharmacy. The FDA defines a pedigree as a statement of origin that identifies each prior sale, purchase, or trade of a drug, including the date of those transactions and the names and addresses of all parties to them.

An electronic pedigree, also called an e-pedigree, is the digital version of the same.
