Describe the error or traumatic experience.

My orders that no trainees perform major parts of, and no males be present during a mastectomy, GYN surgery, and a colonoscopy, were violated. Gurney/drug facilitated consents were attempted/employed.

Describe your anxiety episodes. Depression? Tears?

I suffer recurrent thoughts and visions, loss of sleep, emotional outbursts. I no longer trust anyone, especially physicians or other medical staff.

Have these episodes improved over time? Or not?

No, not really.

How do you deal with your anxiety attacks or PTSD?

I filed many complaints and a lawsuit. I write. I go to a counselor.

Do you live your life any differently now?

I have taught myself nutritional and natural healing. I write. I go to a counselor. I talk about my experience so others will be aware. I try to put it in perspective, but still feel violated and frustrated by the experience.

Lessons Learned

Never go under anesthesia without a family member present.
