comorbid, comorbidity

Definition: Comorbid refers to medical conditions that are secondary, but in addition to, a primary diagnosed disease or condition.
Examples:
Jill was hospitalized with a heart attack, and the doctors took her comorbidities of diabetes and hypertension into account as they determined her treatment.
