Advanced Directives: Survey and Learn

Tuesday January 6, 2009

Some of you will simply turn away from this blog post without reading it, because you think the topic of advanced directives, meaning the exercise of writing down your end-of-life choices, doesn't apply.

It's a tough sell -- the idea of having to make choices for the end of your life. Do you think you're too young? Or maybe you think you'll never die?

Of course we will all die. And we don't know when. It could be at the end of a long life. Or it could be tomorrow when we get hit by a truck, or fall on the ice and crack our heads.

One of our About.com patient empowerment readers is interested in what steps we have taken to prepare advanced directives, so she has put together a survey to find out. It's completely anonymous and you can get the results form her when she's finished.

Care to take her survey? Give it a shot. Then learn more about advanced directives.
