Will Healthcare Be the Election Decision Maker?
We all seem to have opinions about the foundation for healthcare reform. So far, more than 100 people have voted (you can still vote here) -- and the majority (60%) think healthcare should be a right, not an individual's responsibility to earn (pay for it.)
Yesterday I was out and about speaking and meeting with groups of people. One conversation went like this: most of us Americans are so confused by the economic situation, and frustrated that we don't understand the "bailout" or any of the other steps being taken to try to clean up the mess, and even more so, don't really understand which party to blame, that we may be turning to an issue we do (think we) have a better understanding of to help us decide which presidential candidate to vote for.
Which takes us back to the poll. Should healthcare be every American's right? Or is it our responsibility to make sure we pay for coverage for ourselves and our families? And what influence will those opinions have on the election?
Will Americans vote for the man they think represents their opinions about healthcare and reform? What do you think? And if you think this issue is the one to hang your hat on, which way will you vote?
